i think the students writing in the journals were a good idea because they could write freely in them. the students could write express themselves how ever they want so their teacher could read it if they want. they could tell the teacher the problems and struggles they go through day to day and she would listen when no one else would. they can also tell her they are scared of leaving there house because they might get shot going to school thats why some dont come to school everyday.
